and, breathe.

Today Joe ran out the door at 11:45 with 40 packages bound for the shade of 40 different Christmas trees, our last big push of Holiday orders.  We still have a few stragglers to send out on Monday, which came in just past the deadline for Saturday shipment but which will still make it to their families on time.  Still, I feel like I can breathe again.  It’s been a crazy, crazy season.  Which is good, but holy crap I need a drink.

I should really be blanking my mind while the shop’s down for the week, but I can’t help thinking about the Spring scents and new products and new ways to organize and cut down on processing time.  I think I was pretty quick about it these past couple of weeks, but I also found myself muttering to myself on the floor more than a few times, rocking back and forth to “White Christmas.”  That probably indicates that things could be better.  Of course you know this means you’ll be reading about giant canning  jars full of lip balm tubes and MacGuyver-like shelving units made of clementine boxes very soon.   Let’s hope, anyway.
