The demographic: chefs.  Or, people who think they’re chefs.  They spend more time in their kitchen than they do anywhere else, they’ve been known to giggle with childish glee while planning dinner, and they throw around names like le Creuset and Wüsthof like others throw around Prada and Mercedes.  It’s really kind of an illness.  By nature though, they covet the handmade.  Buying an apron from Target can be equated to buying a pie crust from the grocery freezer section.  Which is, of course, an abomination.
